From the write-up and blurb, I am excited to see how this would be identity thief of sorts is gonna pull this all off. I am excited to jump in and spend my time seeing how this all plays out! ~Tanja From the Cover... Florence Darrow is a small-town striver who believes that she's destined to become a celebrated writer. When she stumbles into the opportunity to become the assistant to "Maud Dixon," a celebrated-but anonymous-novelist (think: Elena Ferrante), she believes that the universe is finally providing her big chance. The arrangement feels idyllic; Helen can be prickly, but she is full of pointed wisdom on both writing and living. She even invites Florence along on a research trip to Morocco, where her new novel is set. Florence has never been out of the country before; maybe, she imagines, she'll finally have something ex

The Other Half of the Grave by Jeaniene Frost

Releasing April 26th Get it on Amazon ~  https://amzn.to/3x0sZLf Nostalgia. Nostalgia is exactly what I’m feeling while reading The Other Half of the Grave by Jeaniene Frost. It’s been so many years since I’ve been able to slip into this world. Excuse me while I give a little backstory folks. My book bestie Kathy and I started our blog in January 2013. We started it after we connected over Twilight and then we moved to Charlene Harris and from Charlene, we went straight into Jeaniene Frost's Cat and Bone's series. We read and reread these books over and over.  Kathy and I met while our families were both stationed in England so Bone's cavalier British accent and “devil may care” hit a chord with both of us since we were now living back in the states and missing life in the UK terribly. So when I saw that Frost is releasing book one from Bone's POV I immediately jumped at the chance to read it. The thing I didn't expect was to be immersed in memories of my friend. W

The Faceless Old Woman Who Secretly Lives in Your Home: A Welcome to Night Vale Novel by Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor

Out Now ~ Get it on Amazon https://amzn.to/3EvVv9e This was very different than what I expected. Having said that, I did enjoy this origin story of sorts. I am a forever fan of everything Night Vale so I am happy to add this to my bookshelf even if I was perplexed by it. ~Tanja From the Cover... In the town of Night Vale, there’s a faceless old woman who secretly lives in everyone’s home, but no one knows how she got there or where she came from...until now. Told in a series of eerie flashbacks, the story of The Faceless Old Woman goes back centuries to reveal an initially blissful and then tragic childhood on a Mediterranean Estate in the early nineteenth century, her rise in the criminal underworld of Europe, a nautical adventure with a mysterious organization of smugglers, her plot for revenge on the ones who betrayed her, and ultimately her death and its aftermath, as her spirit travels the world for decades until settling in modern-day Night Vale. Interspersed throughout is a pre

Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez

Releases April 19th - Get it on Amazon https://amzn.to/3fi47Vf It’s no surprise for me to say that Abby Jiménez is one of my favorite authors. From her very first book, The Friend Zone, there’s just something about her writing, her prose, and the way she cultivates a sentence. It just resonates and sticks with you. Her latest addition, Part of your world, is nothing short of wonderful. From the meet-cute between Alexis and Daniel - to the town locals - to the setting - to the ever-present and hilarious animals that occupy the spaces between the pages. All these things just work together to make a beautiful story. One that you won’t be able to put down until you've reached the final chapter. Everything about this is new, different, and fresh. Even though it is a trope that many people have read before there’s just something about the way it’s written and the way her characters interact that make it amazing. From different worlds comes a perfect match. Because we all know when it

The Moment I met You by Debbie Johnson

Out Now! Get it on Amazon https://amzn.to/3JgEIYy This is a heavy one folks. If you're looking for a light, fun, romantic story this ain't it. It's about sacrifice and guilt taking away years of a life that could have been lived in happiness. Maybe. You just never know what would truly have happened if things were different. We only have speculations. I finished feeling melancholy and I bit sad. But hey, sometimes that's what a story is and does. ~Tanja *Thank you to Avon/William Morrow/Harper Collins for sharing this title with me. From the Cover... An unmissable novel of love, disaster, heartbreak, and unexpected happy endings, by the bestselling British author of Maybe One Day. “When I was twenty-six years old my world was literally turned upside down and inside out, like a coat pocket being excavated for loose change. It was terrible, and frightening, and it taught me a lot of things I never wanted to know.” Elena Godwin has scrimped and saved for a relaxing dream

Just the Two of Us by Jo Wilde

Releases April 12th Get it on Amazon ~  https://amzn.to/3JhLBZT As a woman who has been married 29 years this year and I can say for certain I know exactly what it feels like to go into lockdown as empty-nesters. And I have the absolute luxury of saying my husband and I came out of this stronger and more in love than ever. Having said that, I know for others that was simply not the case. Though none of the issues that Julie and Michael faced prior to going into the lockdown happened to me, I can say I understand a lot of their issues. As I’m sure many of us do. At any rate, this was a good reminder of the lockdown and how we made it through to the other side of things. ~Tanja *Thank you to Forever Publishing for gifting me this title. From the Cover... A couple on the brink of divorce after 35 years of marriage gets a second chance to rediscover their love now that a pandemic lockdown has forced them to spend more time together. The New Neighbor by Carter Wilson

Releases April 12th Get it on Amazon ~  https://amzn.to/3j3U87X This is one of those books that I feel fans of the author and his work will wholeheartedly enjoy. I didn’t find out until after I began reading that, The New Neighbor, is a spinoff of a previous book. I feel the need to read the previous work to understand some of what happens within. Having said that, I find the writing to be enjoyable and the premise to be fascinating. The New Neighbor releases April 12th from Poisoned Pen Press and Sourcebooks. ~Tanja *Thank you to Poisoned Pen Press and Sourcebooks for gifting me this title. Dream Town by David Baldacci

Releases April 12th Get it on Amazon ~  https://amzn.to/3K8lYM5 David Baldacci has the most inexplicable way of telling a story. I get so excited when a new release comes from him. I love a good standard when it comes to mystery, but don't get me wrong. A good standard doesn’t mean the same old-same old. It’s the quality of standard that David Baldacci maintains in his work. Dream Town, book three in the Archer series, has everything I wanted and more. Literally from page one, the smile is affixed and firmly in place. It’s an exercise in mental calculations. Who, what, when, where. All the things that make a mystery great.  "Being alive and living or also two distinct things, he had come to realize. The former was strictly biological; the latter was everything else." I mean let’s be realistic, he is THE gold star in the genre and I am forever a fan. Dream Town was absolute perfection. I enjoyed every moment and I can’t wait for more. ~Tanja *Thank you to Novel Suspects a

Lover Arisen by J.R. Ward

Releases April, 5th Get it on Amazon -  https://amzn.to/3Nm2rKg Alrighty folks, this review is going to be all over the place so bear with me. Here are my initial thoughts from the first 30% of Lover Arisen. Incredible. I mean, really freaking great! It feels like Ward’s original storytelling from the first three books in the series. It’s back to being meater, grittier, and comes with a new sense of mystery and engagement.  I’m inspired to reread Dark Lover again from this experience. She's got me googling Birkin bags! It's a punch you in the face, action-filled plot with a story-driven rhythm that makes me crave more. I mean really guys, I can’t get over how good this is. Here are my immediate thoughts once I finished... I was standing in my shower not even 30 minutes after finishing Lover Arisen trying to get my thoughts together.  To figure out exactly what I wanted to say and then like a burst of sublime sunshine I figured... why don’t I just say that? Lover Arisen has left

The Sign for Home by Blair Fell

Releasing April 5th ~ Get it on Amazon https://amzn.to/3qYKBUy You can read the blurb or check out more reviews on Goodreads, but I’m going to tell you how this book made me feel. Nervous with a heightened sense of curiosity. Introspective is another. I have never really spent time thinking just how much the deaf-blind community is reliant on others. Having to have complete faith in those around you, to be honest, open, professional as well as moral. There is so much happening and so much information given by the author, Blair Fell. You can tell Fell devoted time to be acute ,  perceptive, understanding, and shining a light on this portion of the population. I leave this read feeling inspired to learn more and to reevaluate how I would interact with a person within that community. Love has many forms and everyone is entitled to feel that love and be loved in return. The Sign for Home has found a home within my heart. What a wonderful thing to happen. Especially from a debut author. Wel
