Wow. What an emotional ride.

First, I will tell you the romance is subtle and the sex is fade to black, but the heart of this book is everything.

Susan Wiggs brings a story of faith, love, community, and understanding within the Amish culture, while also revealing the flip side which can sometimes be unwavering, challenging, cruel, and merciless in thought and beliefs.

Between You and Me is a fantastic way to spend a summer afternoon. My heart was broken and put back together several times. It's a sad story, yet filled with hope. It also gives outsiders a better understanding of the Amish culture and belief system. I found myself becoming so frustrated about this group of people who can be simultaneously so kind yet so cruel.

Powerful and sweet are the best words I can use to describe this novel.
