About the Book
This is the first standalone book in the Primani series. It’s a dark romantic suspense that layers a decades-old murder with chilling demon possession on top of two broken people who must somehow heal wounds too deep to see the light of day.
From the Cover
Rori Austin’s life is over. She just doesn’t know it yet. Orphaned as a toddler and raised in foster homes, she’s had a pretty crappy life so far. Since turning 24, she’s been plagued by terrifying nightmares that leave her gasping with a hunger she doesn’t understand. Alone and broke, she’s struggling to make it one day at a time. When she blacks out and wakes up in 1969, she knows something is desperately wrong.
Declan Manning is Primani, an immortal soldier charged with keeping demons under control. Lucky for Rori, he’s in the right place at the right time. After saving her life, he vanishes with no intention of coming back. The last thing he needs is a woman in his life. But his intentions can’t override his instincts. Something is wrong with this woman. Something that will get her killed. When he looks into her eyes, he knows there’s no walking away from her.
The clock is ticking on more than Rori’s life--her soul’s been marked for Hell, and the demon is ready to collect. As Rori’s secrets are revealed, Dec’s stunned to realize she’s so much more than human and he will do anything to keep her by his side.
Teaser:
Dec’s eyes met hers from across the room, and he refused to let her go. Could she accept him for the killer he was? She truly didn’t know. His jaw tightened as though he read her thoughts, but he didn’t break eye contact. A beautiful soul? Well, he was certainly beautiful on the outside. But then so were leopards… and they ate people. She shivered as she remembered the feel of his teeth on her neck…

Series Description:
Primani are
soldiers with supernatural abilities granted by an archangel. They police demon
activity that threatens humankind. Before becoming Primani, all were superior
warriors (Celts, Huns, Vikings, etc.) with unique psychic abilities. The series
follows them as they cross lines, fall in love, and butcher demons to save the
world. Living by a loose code of morals, they’re more mercenaries than angels,
prone to violence, vengeance, and in the end, sometimes, heartbreakingly pure
love. The first three books follow Mica’s transformation from human to immortal
after she becomes entangled in the Primani world. Each subsequent book focuses
on the unique story of each Primani as they battle both Hell and their own
inner demons. Often dark, funny, full of twists, and steamy passion, the
Primani series crosses the lines of paranormal romance, metaphysical fantasy,
and occult suspense. Grab the first book, Primani, for free now.

5* series right here! I love, love, love Laurie Olerich! Primani sucked me in! Sooo, I had to read the rest of the series! Broken Souls was my fave because, well, Declan is my fave! He is free spirited, funny, bad ass and over all... a very family oriented guy! This is the first series or book I have read that has sexy semi arch angels! I love Laurie's imagination so much that I wish that these things were real!
ReplyDeleteAh, Dec... He's pretty sweet! How do you resist those dimples? Just not possible! This snippet sums him up. "He looked into her sleepy eyes with a feeling of satisfaction he didn’t recognize. He’d never thought of himself as an alpha male; he was a surfer, a boarder, a sucker for babies and sad women. Something about Rori changed him. He didn’t make love to the woman; he’d claimed her."
DeleteI volunteer to be a beta reader. Purely self reasoning. I want more! Can't you write maybe one book a month or something? :)
ReplyDeleteI'll take that as a challenge! Fingers crossed to release Book Five in Feb 2015. What's to come? More of Sean, Aisling, and my favorite demon, Irku. Bad things are about to happen!
DeleteThanks to Kat for creating such a gorgeous site and spotlighting Broken Souls today! I really appreciate the chance to let my Primani shine!
ReplyDeleteYour Welcome... my pleasure! Can't wait to dive into this series... :)
DeleteLaurie Olerich has done an awesome job with the Primani series!!! I've lost a fair amount of sleep because I got sucked in and couldn't put her books down after I got started! Thought provoking stories with a great balance of suspense, action, and romance. Definitely worth a look, especially since the first book is free:).
ReplyDeleteI love all the books in Laurie's Primani series! The non-stop action and the characters are completely addicting! I didn't think I could love them more but Broken Souls somehow did just that! Everyone loves Declan, how can you not? It's great to hear his story but I have to admit, Rori touched my heart. She is Mica's polar opposite but every bit as impressive a character. This is a very special book and a fantastic read, An excellent book I highly recommend!
ReplyDeleteWe have been hearing great things about this series. Can't wait to get to it :)
