Author Spotlight ~Trisha Wolfe~

From an early age, Trisha Wolfe dreamed up imaginary worlds and characters and was accused of talking to herself. Today, she lives in South Carolina with her family and writes full time, using her imaginary worlds as an excuse to continue talking to herself.

Q & A with Trisha Wolfe

What do you want people to know about you and your process?
Great question. It’s probably pretty boring, to be honest lol, but I don’t plot. I’m a pantser. I also write linearly straight through a series. Distractions are my enemy, so I have to have everything around me shut down. No music, no TV, no phone. Because I don’t plot, I keep very detailed notes. I probably fill at least one journal for every book I write. I have journals cluttering my bedroom. And that’s where I write. My bed.

When did you know writing was what you wanted/needed to do?

This is an easy one for me. At fourteen, I read Interview with a Vampire by Anne Rice and I knew right away that I had to be a writer. I wanted to make people feel they way Anne made me feel while reading—like I was living in an alternate universe and could experience anything and everything with so much emotion it was almost painful, and yet incredible. I’ve been trying to do that ever since.

Will we see any new works from you soon? What will they be?
Yes you will! I’m currently writing a new dark romance series titled Darkly, Madly, and I hope to release the first book, Born, Darkly, this fall. Maybe sooner ☺

Favorite wine and favorite chocolate :)
Hmm. I’m not a fan of alcohol. I used to be! Then I got old-er ;) Drinking makes it hard for me to focus on writing and work, so I depend heavily on coffee and chocolate to get me through.

Favorite movie/television programs?
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is my all-time favorite show. It’s so empowering and Joss is a genius. I don’t think any show will ever top it for me. I also devours Criminal Minds and am really loving Stranger Things. How I love your Mother is a close third for me.

Top five reads? (all time or current, your choice)
Tough! Currently, anything by Gillian Flynn, Tarryn Fisher, and Amy Harmon. Those are my one-click without having to read the blurb authors.

What are your favorite foods?

Coffee (that’s a food, right?) and cheeseburgers.

What’s the best way fans can reach out to you?
Email never fails.

Will you be attending any signings or conventions? Where and when?
Yes, I’m really looking forward to the Dark & Seductive Affair in July. It’s an event catered to Dark Romance authors, and I’m going to fangirl my ass off! It’s being held in Charlotte, NC this year.

What are some of your hobbies and other creative outlets?

Marathoning Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Criminal Minds, and currently looking forward to Stranger Things 2. Listening to Pandora while cleaning, because it’s the only way anything gets done. Coffee. Lots and lots of coffee. Does all the count as hobbies? I don’t like anything physical, I’m lazy, hence why I read; my favorite hobby.

  7. Awesome interview!! Where do you get your ideas for your stories/series? And do you find that once you get them going that they don't always go where you think they will?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Thanks so much, Michelle! Great questions! I always find they don't go where I originally think they will lol I like to let the characters guide the story, and they can get bossy. I usually start with a concept and a theme: my big theme for all books with strong women. And then I just start writing to see where to story goes :)
