K & T:
Just in case some of our readers haven't heard of
the magic that is Tangled they can check out the cover write up
and our reviews at the bottom of this post :) For now let’s focus on all that
is Emma Chase.
Tangled is our Spotlight Book of The Month! And let’s be
completely honest here, it has taken the handcuffed, feather tickling, Alpha
male reading community by storm! A light and hysterically funny book readers
and book bloggers are talking about and sharing with fervor.
Emma herself has been a delight in getting to know.
She is an author that has been very active on social sites like Facebook and
Twitter. She also shares, likes and responds to feedback on Goodreads and book
blogs. When an author takes the time to do this they endear themselves to the
fandom. Making Emma a prime candidate of our Spotlight.
So here we go........
KT Book
Reviews Five Questions with Emma Chase
K & T: What is the most exciting
thing that has happened so far in your Tangled success?
Emma Chase: When Tangled made the New
York Times Best Seller's List. Quite literally, it was a lifelong dream
come true.
K & T: We talk a lot here on KT Book Reviews about wine and chocolate, so wine or chocolate?
Emma Chase: Wine. A nice
Merlot is my favorite.
K & T: Other than Drew (of course)
who is your book boyfriend(s)?
Emma Chase: That's a tough choice to make. But if I have to pick just one, I'll say...Professor Gabriel Emerson.
K & T: What’s your favorite Tangled quote?
Emma Chase: Another tough one. Drew has a few lines that I love - funny ones, sweet ones, naughty ones. But, again, if I have to pick just one...it's the last words Kate and Drew say to each other in Tangled:
"I'm going to make you so happy Drew
Evans."
My arms tighten around her, "You already have.
After this? Heaven's going to be a major disappointment."
K & T: What will be your summer
read?
Emma Chase: I've wanted to start Blind
Obsession by Ella Frank, for some time. Also, I'll be working on edits for
Twisted (Tangled Series #2).
K & T: We thank you Emma for taking the time to play
along. We hope you have great success with Tangled and we are sure it will soar
over the summer to even high accolades. We can not wait for Twisted!

Review of Tangled
5 laughing out loud stars *****
Oh wow... I have so much to say about this
book that I just don't know where to begin... I giggled and smiled through the
entire book. Reading this from Drew's POV was very entertaining. It was an
education for all of us ladies on what men really think and want. Some of
Drew's inner dialogue had me rolling my eyes, laughing out loud and sometimes
thinking hey, that is spot on. Whether we like it or not... the
truth is the truth right??
Drew has the flu... Why does he have the
flu?? Well, this is why:
“Women fall in love quicker than men. Easier and
more often. But when guys fall? We go down harder. And when things go bad? When
it's not us who ends it? We don't get to walk away.
We crawl.” (from the mind of Drew)
Awe... feeling sorry for him?? Well
don't... Drew is a womanizer and Drew did this to himself!
But, it's a whole lot of fun watching this guy go
to great lengths to win his woman back. The things that these two do to
each other might walk a fine line of ... are you crazy?? Yep...
crazy for love.
The following quote is one of my absolute favorites
from this book. One of Drew's friends is trying to help him get over his
flu. And, when you read it you have to do it out loud so you can practice
your Scottish accent. That makes it even funnier... do it, do it,
just do it!
"In times like this, I always ask myself,
"What would William Wallace do?" His eyes are serious.
Stirring. Then his voice takes on a Scottish accent he doesn't
have. "Aye... run, and you won't get rejected... but years
from now, would you be willin' to trade all the days from now to then for a
chance - just one chance- to go back and tell Kate she can take your balls and
hang them from the rearview mirror of her car, but she can never take...
your freedom!
So many great characters... so many great quotes...
so many that it would take several pages to list them all out and you know, it
would ruin the story if too many of them were revealed.
The best way to read this book is part of a buddy
read. My friend and I are still laughing about this book and all of
the quotes even a week later. I keep going back and re-reading quotes and
smiling.
I will reveal one more quote... just because
it's my other all time favorite and it is so true... it really is...
more of Drew's wisdom that you can appreciate:
“For God's sake, don't let her watch Cinderella.
What kind of example is that? A mindless twit who can't even remember where she
left her damn shoe, so she has to wait for some douchebag in tights to bring it
to her? Give me a frigging break!”
If you are a fan of books like Wallbanger and
Beautiful Bastard... romances that require a sense of humor... then you really
need to buy this book. It is definitely going on my favorites list!

From the cover........
Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he
makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful
women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why
has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?
He’ll tell you he has the flu.
But we all know that’s not really true.
Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and
ambitious. She refuses to let anything - or anyone - derail her path to
success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment
banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a
tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction
to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.
Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having
everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he
be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and
fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?
Can Drew Evans win at love?
Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is
an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about
women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew
learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live
without.
