Jet by Jay Crownover

Two people with such similar pasts and dysfunction are so different as people in adult life. Traveling this path with them was such a good read. I really love these characters. ALL OF THEM
Ayden sees rocker Jet and she is smitten. One drunken night she puts the moves on and he pulls the breaks. What? That’s never happened to her before……ever.

Jet the bad boy of rock and roll she’s the lovely Ayden as a treasure he doesn’t deserve and when she throws herself at him he decided to save her the morning after regret and says no. What was he thinking?

“You keep telling me I don’t know you and that I don’t have a clue, but the truth is we don’t know each other and I don’t know that either of us is really ready to handle the other. What I do know is that I want you more than I want to keep breathing.” –Ayden

A kind of friendship starts between them that become awkward when Jet needs a place to stay and become one of Aden’s roommates. But then a slow burn turns to a raging fire.

“This is going to change everything”--
--“Sometimes things need to change, because there just isn’t any way for them to stay the same.”

“It looks like your still running, Ayd. Haven’t you figured out the horizon just gets further away and the past stays exactly where you left it?”

There is so much back-story and family dram these two really have to work hard to let go and just be who they are.

“The extent to which we can sacrifice our own lives for our families has to have some kind of end point, Jet. You can’t be angry and hurt forever because she won’t let you help her. At some point you need to recognize she made her choice and it clearly wasn’t you.”

“We can’t pick our families or where we come from, Jet. All we can choose is who we want to become in spite of them and because of them.”

I am becoming a HUGE fan of this author and will continue to grab up her next book in the series!

5 STARS!

A few more of my favorite quotes….

“—I was going to hold on to her for as long as I could, until the fire got too hot and burned me from the inside out, and she would have no choice but to watch it smolder.”-Ayden

“One morning you just wake up and realize the only way things have always been doesn’t mean that’s the way they have to always be.”-Ayden

“Love isn’t perfect. It’s hard work and sometimes it’s more effort to be in love than it is to just run away. If you keep looking for perfect, the real thing is going to pass right by you.”-Jet

From the cover………
With his tight leather pants and a sharp edge that makes him dangerous, Jet Keller is every girl’s rock and roll fantasy. But Ayden Cross is done walking on the wild side with bad boys. She doesn’t want to give in to the heat she sees in Jet’s dark, haunted eyes. She’s afraid of getting burned from the sparks of their spontaneous combustion, even as his touch sets her on fire.

Jet can’t resist the Southern Belle with mile-long legs in cowboy boots who defies his every expectation. Yet the closer he feels to Ayden, the less he seems to know her. While he’s tempted to get under her skin and undo her in every way, he knows firsthand what happens to two people with very different ideas about relationships.

Will the blaze burn into an enduring love. . . or will it consume their dreams and turn them to ashes?
