Confess by Colleen Hoover ~Review & Giveaway~
I devoured this in one day! Portions of Confess are truly thought provoking in originality and concept. I haven't read anything like it before. I’m not even sure how I want to review this.
The
prologue is an exquisite pain of human emotion and loss. I was a puddle of
tears within the first 4% of Confess, and I barely even knew the characters.
Well, that’s a true testament to an author’s ability if I ever heard one.
Colleen Hoover…you are simply amazing.
It
begins with mystery. Auburn Reed sits in a lawyer’s office nervous, a bit
scared, and somewhat angry and upset. On her way home she stops, looking at a
window covered in scraps of paper. Confessions: what she reads covering the
window are confessions. Consumed with
what she sees, Auburn begins reading them all, until she sees the help wanted
sign. It’s at that moment a hand yanks her inside. Auburns life is about to
change. It will happen when Owen not only pulls her into his art studio but,
when he makes Auburn feel things she hasn’t in the past five years.
This
is where I stop telling you about what happens and where I begin to tell you
how amazing the path these two walk finally ends. It’s revealing,
heartbreaking, confusing and a powerful read. I was completely in awe of the
art depicted in Confess and the meaning behind each one. I cannot wait to
actually see the pieces described (my ARC was without pictures). It is a fascinating
premise and I am honestly impressed with the idea of Confess Art Studio.
Many
of the confessions listed within cause me to pause, wonder, and contemplate. I
highlighted so many confessions that not only are poignant, but really made me
think. Some I really don’t want to acknowledge, but it’s someone’s truth and
deserves to be heard even in anonymity.
I
must Confess, it’s an incredible 5 star read for me.

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover, a
new novel about risking everything for love—and finding your heart somewhere
between the truth and lies.
Auburn Reed has her entire life mapped out. Her goals are in sight and there’s no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to find a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist who works there, Owen Gentry.
For once, Auburn takes a risk and puts her heart in control, only to discover Owen is keeping major secrets from coming out. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything important to Auburn, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it.
The last thing Owen wants is to lose Auburn, but he can’t seem to convince her that truth is sometimes as subjective as art. All he would have to do to save their relationship is confess. But in this case, the confession could be much more destructive than the actual sin
