No other way to say it other than- I loved this book. This was my first time reading anything from these two authors. It is also the first book they have authored together. Well guess what ladies? You hit it right out of the park! It was captivating and fresh. I very much enjoyed the writing style. It moved well and made you feel a part of the story. I found the back-story to be very original. It was a new premise to me and with the amount I read that’s saying something.
Emma, the Siren, works missing women cases and has a new partner. An agent she worked with in the past and had what pretty much sums up as a one night stand over a year ago. It may have been one night but this man has stuck in her mind. Can she figure out how to keep it a working relationship?
There is more at play here than just FBI cases. This is a world of hidden supernaturals. Werewolves, vampires and much more are always watching and always listening. Emma has to atone for mistakes in her past. Part of her punishment is that she can never give her heart away and receive happiness. So how can she keep her heart safe when any wrong move can kill those she loves the most?
There was a bit of world building as there always is with any book one in a series This is a fantastic start to a new series by an incredible writing duo. I can’t wait to see what happens next! Side note- It kind of reminded me of a supernatural J.D. Robb.
