Kera Watson never expected to face death behind a Los Angeles coffee shop. Not after surviving two tours lugging an M16 around the Middle East. If it wasn’t for her hot Viking customer showing up too late to help, nobody would even see her die.
In uncountable years of service to the Allfather Odin, Ludvig “Vig” Rundstrom has never seen anyone kick ass with quite as much style as Kera. He knows one way to save her life—but she might not like it. Signing up with the Crows will get Kera a new set of battle buddies: cackling, gossiping, squabbling, party-hearty women. With wings. So not the Marines.
But Vig can’t give up on someone as special as Kera. With a storm of oh-crap magic speeding straight for L.A., survival will depend on combining their strengths: Kera’s discipline, Vig’s loyalty… and the Crows’ sheer love of battle. Boy, are they in trouble.
5 glowing stars!

I love it when I find a series that is not only unique, but also has a variety of intriguing characters. In that respect this book hit the spot and was incredibly entertaining! Lots of giggles... these ladies cracked me up! They are not only beautiful, sarcastic and extremely self absorbed but also fierce, deadly and 100% devoted to their sisters.
Most of the book focuses on the two clans called the Crows and the Ravens. The Crows are ladies chosen at their death to be given a second chance at life. They get to be whoever they want, sparing no expense as long as they fulfill their duties as the Harbingers of Death for the God who gifted them their new life. Yes, they are killers and not to be messed with. The Ravens are a hunky and entertaining bunch of Viking men! It was so much fun seeing these Alpha Males and Alpha Females mingling together... it was often explosive and sometimes dangerous... for the men... haha... I loved it... :)
Kera and Vig are my new favorite PR couple... they are so good together... his crush on the human turned Crow was adorable and amusing. Kera is a character that I completely respected because of her devotion to her country as a marine and as a Crow she was even more appealing. All of those marine qualities came in handy.
I LOVE strong, female characters and this book has that in excess! I also loved how the author managed to blend the old gods into this new modern world that was not only entertaining but highly amusing.

Anyway... this is going on my top favs shelf... and of course I would highly recommend!

  1. Ah now I understand the synopsis which I read three times and still didn't understand. It was more than a little confusing. Thanks for clearing things up, it sounds like my kind of read with vikings and german mythology and all.
