Hero by Samantha Young

I first fell in love with Samantha Young’s writing style after reading On Dublin Street.
It was so well written and wonderfully put together that I immediately became a fan. Now an all new book is getting ready to hit the streets. Psssst….It’s just as good!

Alexa and Caine have such a steamy, intense build up that I was up ‘til the wee hours. It’s a strong, impulsive connection between these two that just keeps building: angry office encounters, smartass retorts, and lusty up-against-the wall rebuttals. Fabulous!

All sexiness aside, the heart of the story is two people recovering from the mistakes of their parents. Each has built their own walls in order to protect themselves and the lives they live. Learning that Alexa and Caine’s past are horrifically linked together changes the initial chemistry they both feel. Why must children pay for the sins of the fathers? They don’t, but understanding that isn’t easy. Chemistry is chemistry, and try as you might there is no changing that.

Here’s the breakdown: So, this first 75% you had me hook line and sinker. The next part: a little too must angsty for my taste and not enough backbone on Alexa’s part, in my opinion. The ending? Well, that just kicked it up a notch. Now we’re cooking! :)

All in all, a great read with the heat I had forgotten Samantha Young does so well!
