Where she belongs?

Free spirit Priscilla Hart doesn't get tied down, to anyone or any place. Then she arrives in Widow's Grove and meets her half brother. The ten-year-old tough guy has no one else but her. So Priss stay—for now.

But her sexy new landlord, Adam Preston, is interfering with her ideas. He's everything Priss normally steers clear of—committed, stable and no rebellious urges in sight. As opposite as they are, each conversation, each touch, each kiss they share feels so right. Can a little gangster-wannabe, an irresistible "nice" guy; and an odd assortment of new friends make Priss want to stay for good?

Laura Drake never disappoints! She has a way of writing characters that you can easily connect with... and small town, slow moving romance fans will love this series!
In this story we re-visit Widow's Grove... the small town we came to know and love in book one of this series... Her Road Home... Her Road Home by Laura Drake Even though this is the second book in this series it is easily read as a stand alone.
I do love the female lead characters in this series so far. They are flawed but strong and independent. Priss was running from a less than happy childhood but finds her way to Widow's Grove after her mother passes away. There she meets her half brother Nacho and she finds herself in the difficult position of attempting to become a.. "parent". A frightening path for someone who doesn't like to stay in one place for very long. She also meets Adam, a middle class "nice" guy. Priss doesn't do nice guys but there is something irresistible about this small town pharmacist.
Adam is stuck in a rut himself... his past demons have him crippled with fear, especially when it comes to heights. He is drawn to Priss because of her courage and strength.
They each, in their own unique way, provide something for the other that is lacking and it doesn't take long for love to blossom.
Another bonus to Laura Drake is her inclusion of supporting characters that also win you over and tug at the heart strings. I love the way she takes these characters and intertwines little side stories to go along with the blooming romance.
Another enjoyable read by one of my favorite authors! And, in case you didn't know, she just won the RITA award for best first book for her cowboy romance novel called The Sweet Spot... The Sweet Spot (Sweet on a Cowboy, #1) by Laura Drake... One of my favorite cowboy romances! So, check it out if you like that genre.
