Author’s Take on Sean Ferro

When I wrote Sean Ferro,
I took a character from Demon Kissed, Eric. He started off as a good guy and
then something happened to him and he got pretty messed up. I fleshed him out
more, made him have real issues, and put him in the real world and that was the
inspiration for Sean Ferro. I LOVE writing messed up characters and so I took
Sean and gave him more demons than he could handle on his own. He needs Avery,
he just doesn’t realize it.

Avery is a slightly more
insane version of me with my sense of humor and a little more guts. She is
dealing with loss, grief, heartache, guilt, morality, and the reality of
poverty. Lots of people deal with these issues, which is a huge part of why
people love this series. Life has beat the crap out of Avery Stanz, but she
doesn’t give up. People like her inspire us to go on when life gets hard.
