Fighting Fate by Linda Kage ~ Tour
Forgiving your brother's murderer may be
noble, but falling in love with him borders on betrayal.
When Paige Zukowski enrolls at Granton
University in honor of her dead brother, she has no idea fate will land her on
the same campus with the very guy who killed him. But Logan Xander isn't quite
the murderer she's always believed him to be.
A day hasn't passed since the tragedy that
Logan doesn't wish he could go back and undo everything. It doesn't take Paige
long to realize he's suffered as much as she has. Forgiving him for ruining her
life might not be so impossible after all. But when she actually starts to like
him and realizes he likes her in return, their true anguish begins.

from Fighting Fate
"Well
the day we find him on the top of a roof, waving a gun at everyone, don’t you
come running to me and say I told you so, because…because I told you so."
Linda: I liked having the drunk girl of the group—Tess—foreshadow what was
going to happen!
Slowly,
he opened his lashes and rolled his head against the wall, lulling it her way
until their gazes met. He looked exhausted and beaten. Broken.
Linda: This was just a sad line I really liked.
Scowling
at both her suitemates as their stares followed every move Logan made, she
stepped partially in front of them to block their view and crossed her arms
over her chest.
Lifting
an eyebrow, she asked, “Do you mind?”
Bailey
shifted to the side so she could peer around Paige’s shoulder. “Not at all.”
Linda: I thought this was funny. It's one of the reason I loved Paige's suitemates!
When she
realized the smell wasn’t coming from the room, but from the boy tending to
her, her eyes flew open in horror. Oh God, she must be totally out of it if she
thought Logan Xander smelled good. Clean. Like mountain spring fresh dryer
sheets and spearmint gum.
Linda: This was one of the first moments Paige realizes how aware she was of
Logan as a guy, that’s why I liked it.
“I could
count the reasons you made me love you, one for each strand of beautiful hair
you have. Or…or I could show you.”
Linda: This is why I loved Logan. He says a few swoon-worthy things!
“Do you
think it’s possible to forgive someone for what they did and move on as if it
never happened? I mean, if it was something so bad it changed your entire life
forever, and what they did could never be undone, but you knew they never meant
any harm and were sorry for their actions?”
Linda: This was said by Paige, and kind of just sums up the entire theme of
the story.
