Officer Off Limits (Line of Duty #3) by Tessa Bailey

I am in love with Tessa Bailey! There I said it. I discovered the Line of Duty series just last month and I am hooked. This is a great series with the right amount of funny sexy banter, charged sexual tension and smart plot lines. From the main characters to the background players, no one is a throw away. No one feels like an afterthought.  Everyone plays. Love it.

This time around we begin with a great sister solidarity break up scene. Story Brooks wins my heart on page three with a bottle of champagne in her hand. She was supposed to be getting married. Now she is headed to New York to a sick father and no husband to be.

Daniel, playboy and NYPD hostage negotiator has no idea the sexy blonde he meets at the hospital vending machine is the boss’s daughter. Too bad because from the get go they are conversational magic! Have I told you guys I love me some good old sexy banter? Well I do. It’s my kryptonite.

“you see, there are three factors one must consider when choosing a snack from a vending machine. Substance, for one. It needs to hold you over until real food is available. Freshness, which your cereal bar is sorely lacking. And finally” his eye dropped to her mouth – “taste.”

--“these are strong points you’re making, but I’m going to need you to be more specific.”

--“ Ah. Peanut butter crackers. You can’t go wrong there. They’re the best bang for your buck.”

--“ …I could have sworn you were going to pick trail mix.

--“Why?”

--“Because you’re both full of shit.”

There are quite a few laugh out loud moments in Officer Off Limits which instantly makes a book three stars. Add in the great characters and the right amount of sexy this one gets FIVE BRIGHT and SHINY STARS!
